Exhibiting at Farnborough

Looking forward to an event

On Sunday 15th July Paul and I shall be busy setting up our ‘stand’ at Farnborough International Airshow. This is a date that I have been looking forward to for many reasons, none of which  involved the Farnborough Airshow.  Sunday 15th July will be our 40th wedding anniversary and in truth I can think of an infinite number of ways I would rather be spending it! However, Paul is a master of surprises and so who knows what could happen.

Standing out

As first time exhibitors at the airshow we have both had a steep learning curve on what it entails. To start we had to find out what type of ‘stand’ we were able to rent. As first timers  we were able to rent a shell scheme measuring 9 sq m. This comes with a small round table, two chairs and a lockable cupboard, all very functionable. In order to make us ‘stand out’, we had to make some changes. When the website for the show finally went live in January we were able to have a look at our options. GES are organising the logistics of the event and they publish an all encompassing brochure of possible extras.

Starting  from the ground up, literally, we ordered a new carpet for the stand. We  chose black and red carpet tiles to simulate a chess board, a theme which runs through our whole company image. We then added a colourful ‘bar unit’. Unfortunately we will not be serving drinks but, it should provide a reception area for anyone wishing to have more information about our company and the services we provide.

Large photographs will brighten the two walls of the shell. These will show some of the events we have been involved in. These will be complemented by a rolling display on a wall-mounted LED screen. We have also added a square table and some comfortable chairs. Finally extra lighting should help us to ‘stand out’ even more.

Promotion

We will be running a daily competition to win a signed copy of the latest edition of ‘Buying The Big Jets’ . Five questions will be set each day and a winner chosen every evening. There will also be literature explaining what we do as a company and the all important giveaways. To see what these are you must visit the stand!

Logistics

Through the airshow website we arranged a parking pass and our photo ID’s. These arrived by post a week ago. We have accommodation and insurance organised and are now feeling prepared. The budget went out the window some time ago. Imagine a reasonable sum and then double it, you might approach the final sum.

Where are we?

Through The Looking Glass Ltd will be in Hall 3 at stand number 3578. Please feel free to drop by for a chat and  discover what it is we do. SkyChess or Buying The Big Jets Live might just be what your company needs.
